About the Kathi Koll Foundation
The role of the caregiver can be one of the toughest jobs imaginable. That is one of the biggest lessons that Kathi Koll learned during her more than six years as a full-time family caregiver to her husband Don, who suffered a stroke that left him paralyzed from the neck down and forced to live on a respirator.
Kathi learned firsthand about the incredible pressures, practical challenges and emotional demands that caring for a disabled loved one places on a family. Since then supporting struggling caregivers has become her life’s mission and was what inspired her to create The Kathi Koll Foundation.
Since 2014, the foundation, has offered short-term financial subsidies for caregivers in need, and a community outreach and education program geared toward helping caregivers navigate the various challenges that can arise. Thanks to the generous support of donors, the foundation is able to provide meaningful assistance for family caregivers, offering them emotional and financial respite by helping families purchase medical equipment, take family trips, improve the safety of their home, pay utility bills, buy groceries, and many other much-needed but financially prohibitive items that help them improve the quality of their lives and the quality of care they give their loved ones.

Kathi created the Kathi’s Caregivers Program within the foundation to help ease the burden on struggling caregivers who are facing financial, emotional and practical challenges, while also juggling their caregiving and family responsibilities.
Through this program, the foundation offers short-term financial subsidies to caregivers in need, and a community outreach and education program geared toward helping caregivers navigate the various challenges that can arise and to understand that they are not alone.
